This year, as the pandemic dragged on, I reached out to Priya for help in getting me out of my recliner and back into shape!  About two months ago we started working together towards that goal.

Priya is a certified clinical exercise physiologist and a certified personal trainer who is very

knowledgeable about her subject: the human body and movement. She is passionate about research-based, non-medical ways to increase my peace of mind and health. She has been through her own health struggles, so she is compassionate and sensitive to my limitations, as she seeks my good and sometimes pushes me to do just a little more.

We started small. Priya asked a lot of questions about what I wanted to do, and really listened to what I was saying. She came up with a customized plan, which she tweaks as we go, in response to how I respond to the exercises we do together. She has great ideas: I got a bike [thing] for Christmas so I can ride and get my aerobic exercise in even when it’s 0 degrees in Iowa in January!

With Priya’s help I am making permanent changes to my lifestyle that are making a difference in how I feel, how much energy I have and what I can do.

My mood is better. My snacking has plummeted to near-zero. I definitely have grown in strength and flexibility, and have reduced my need for medications for chronic pain. I have even lost weight AND didn’t gain any over the holidays!

I can heartily recommend Priya Dass, and I am grateful for her help in my journey to health.
